Ingredients:
Meat:
1 ½ pounds beef (ground)
1 tsp hot pepper (deseeded, minced)
1 beef bouillon cube
½ tsp allspice (ground)
1½ tsp Black pepper (ground)
¼ cup onions (minced)
2 tbsp soy sauce
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp thyme leaves
¾ cup water
2½ tbsp butter
½ tsp paprika
1 ½ tsp onion powder
¾ cup bread crumbs
4 garlic cloves (diced)
6 stalks scallion (chopped)
1 tsp sugar (brown)
Dough:
½ tbsp baking powder
4½ cups flour
1½ tsp dry yeast
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp
¾ cups buttermilk (warm)
¼ cup milk (brushing)
Instruction:
Combine flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl.
Add olive oil, melted butter, and buttermilk, then knead until pliable. Lightly grease the dough with olive oil, cover it, and let it rise for at least one hour.
Heat butter and sauté onions, scallions, garlic, peppers, and thyme in a skillet, add beef and stir.
Mix in onion powder, soy sauce, black pepper, salt, sugar, paprika, water, the bouillon cube, and breadcrumbs. Cover and cook until the beef is tender.
Once the dough has risen, press it down and knead slightly. Divide into smaller pieces and roll each out. Place a portion of meat filling in the centre, moisten the edges with water, fold over, and seal with a fork. Brush with milk.
Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
