Ingredients:
Shell crust:
1 egg
3 cups flours
1 ½ tsp sugar
1 tsp curry powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp salt
55g unsalted butter (cold)
25g shortening
1cup full cream milk
½ cup ice water
Filling:
1 ½ beef (ground)
1 beef bouillon cube
½ tsp allspice (ground)
1½ Black pepper (ground)
¼ cups onions (minced)
1 tsp hot pepper (Deseeded, minced)
2 tbsp soy sauce
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp thyme leaves
¾ cups water
2½ tbsp butter
½ tsp paprika
1 ½ tsp onion powder
¾ cups breadcrumbs
4 garlic cloves (diced)
6 stalks scallion (chopped)
1 tsp sugar (brown)
Instructions:
Mix flour, sugar, turmeric, curry powder, and salt in a large bowl. Add butter and shortening, then knead until crumbly.
Create a well in the centre, add milk, and work it into a smooth dough. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Heat butter in a skillet, and sauté onions, peppers, scallions, garlic, and thyme. Add the beef and stir.
Mix in all spices, onion powder, soy sauce, black pepper, salt, sugar, paprika, water, bouillon cube, and breadcrumbs. Cover and cook until tender.
Mix an egg with cold water for the egg wash.
Roll out the dough and cut 3-inch circles. Add meat to one side, fold over, and seal the edges with egg wash and a fork. Place on a greased baking sheet.
Heat oven to 400 degrees F, and bake for 30 minutes.
