Mulled Wine
Ingredients
1 bottle red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot)
1 orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
1 cinnamon stick 4 cloves
1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
½ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
Directions
Combine wine, orange slices, lemon slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, peppercorns, and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat and let simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until heated through. Strain the mulled wine into mugs and serve hot.
Spiced Cider
Ingredients
1 gallon apple cider ½ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
1 cinnamon stick 4 cloves
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
Directions
In a large saucepan, combine apple cider, sugar, cinnamon stick, cloves, nutmeg, and ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until heated through. Strain the spiced cider into mugs and serve hot.
