8 Easter-Themed Events For The Whole Family

It’s the Easter holidays and we at Debu Living are delighted to bring you fun activities that the whole family can take part in. From the popular egg hunt, to building your own cuddly at the Easter market, we have it all covered. The GTA and environs are usually filled with Easter-themed events this season and this year is no exception.

  1. Vintage Easter parade

This popular Easter event takes place in various venues and hosted by various organisations as well. In 2022, the Kingsway Easter parade returned after a two year hiatus. The parade is a fun family event where everyone gets to take part in many fun activities tailored for the whole family. For starters there’s a photo shoot with the Easter bunny, followed by gifts for the whole family. Then there’s face painting for the little ones, easter eggs hunt, and balloon twisting and many more. The Pickering Easter parade for 2023 was themed ‘the Legion’s Last bunny hop.’ This yearly event hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 606 will take place along the usual route of Bay Ridges on Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 10 am to 2 pm. Afterwards, a free meal of barbeque will be provided, and families will get to take part in some more fun activities. See here for more details.

  1. Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Egg Hunt is one of the most common Easter themed events the whole family can partake in. Some event organisers of this annual event have indoor locations to accommodate any sudden change in weather. In Mississauga for instance, the Amazing Adventures Playland have hosted this event in the past. The hunt comprises placing plastic eggs in various spots around the venue where the fun seekers can easily find them.

  1. Easter Exhibitions

This exciting Easter event involves a lot of unique fun activities for the whole family. The event is usually free to attend and comprises children of any age as well as adults engaging in decorating their own Easter eggs with their colours of choice provided by the organisers. Thereafter, they get to showcase their decorations in an exhibition for prize competition. Spring themed activities tailored for the outdoors are also on offer. Fun seekers will plant their own small plant to take home with them. There’s also a walking trail where people will fish for eggs, toss games and a whole lot more.

  1. Easter Events at Farms

Easter weekend at farms is another Easter-themed activity that’s bound to be fun for the whole family. This series of events involves a variety of activities in farms around the GTA. Authors are invited to read from their Easter-themed books for the little ones. There’s time for crafts, egg hunt and drop off, and face painting. The Easter bunny is usually the special surprise as he arrives bearing gifts and treats for everyone.

  1. Easter Markets

Easter markets are one special Easter event as the whole family tends to visit special setup markets where Easter specialties and novelties are on display. This special fun activity depending on the venue can involve choosing from a kit of various furry animals to create a plush bunny, amongst other fun activities. There’s also scavenger hunts where the whole family works as a team for fun prizes.

  1. Easter Brunch

You can either have Easter brunch at home or at special event venues. The Pingles Farm Sp-EGG-tacular Egg Hunt & Brunch is a good one to be at this year. Comprising Easter inspired and a variety of mini-egg themed baked goods fresh out of their bakery. Also, Easter eggs are hunted and collected with the Bunny. The main event of the brunch takes place in the Pingles Greenhouse where friends and families are treated to some delicious meals. Starts Saturday, March 23rd & Sunday, March 24th Friday, March 29th through to Sunday, March 31st. Time 9am – 4:00pm, (last entry time slot is 2:30pm – 3:pm) for the Sp-EGG-tacular Egg Hunt). 1. Easter Festivals

The annual Easterfest is a day of fun for the whole family. Comprising playtime with baby animals, crafts, face painting, egg scramble, wagon rides, pony rides, jumping castles, train rides, food trucks, and a whole lot more. There’s one taking place at The Markham Fairgrounds from Mar 29 – April 1. See here for more details.

  1. Live Performances

Looking for a nice outdoor music event this Easter and spring in general? Koerner Hall at Opera Atelier is your best bet. Last year saw stage performances like Handel’s The Resurrection, Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice. This year, they’ll stage All is Love and performances will be held from April 11 – 14.
