Christmas Meals

Roast Turkey:

Ingredients

1 free-range turkey, 5 kg

Sea salt and black ground pepper

2 onions

1 lemon

1 garlic head

6 bay leaves

Olive oil, virgin or not

8 slices of smoked bacon

375g unsalted butter

Preheat your oven to 220°C. Trim the edges and decorate the turkey with your ingredients, then stick in the oven!

Roast Beef:

One 8-pound beef top round

Flaky sea salt

¼ cup black ground pepper

2 garlic bulbs

Olive oil, virgin or not

Cut your roast to perfection, then slather it with oil and salt. Have your oven ready at 260°C and add your roast in, smelling of lemon!

Pasta:

1 pound rotini pasta

¼ cup of olive oil

6 garlic cloves

1 tablespoon tomato paste

1 can fire-roasted diced tomatoes, 14.5 ounces

½ teaspoon kosher salt

¼ teaspoon chili flakes

1 avocado

 ½ cup Basil Pesto

1 lemon

¼ cup of toasted breadcrumbs

¼ cup of chopped parsley

Create a Christmas-style version of pasta, with garlic and tomatoes, diced carefully! The red and green highlight the colours of Christmas, as you mix and bake this pasta! Carefully add all the spices and sliced vegetables, along with lemon juice, as you decorate the pasta with breadcrumbs and parsley.

Green Bean Casserole:

2 cans of green beans, 15-ounce each

1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup, 10.5 ounce

¾ cup milk

1 can French-fried onions, 2.8 ounce

Sea salt and black ground pepper

A healthy choice for people, this casserole is easy to make, especially with pre-bought mushroom soup. Pre-heat oven to 175°C, while you mix the beans, soup, milk, and onions into a solid casserole, baked to perfection!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

1½ pound Brussel Sprouts

3 tablespoons olive oil, virgin or not

1 teaspoon kosher salt

½ teaspoon of black pepper

Check out your local grocer for the best sprouts, and prepare this easy meal at home! Slather your sprouts in oil and spice them up with salt and pepper as you bake them to perfection!

Shrimp Cocktail:

4 pounds of jumbo shrimp, frozen

2 bunches of curly kale

1 lemon, sliced

Shrimp cocktail sauce

Horseradish

Worcestershire Sauce

One mini-Christmas tree

Once you have thawed and cleaned your shrimp, decorate the mini-tree stand with kale, and add on the shrimp afterwards, like traditional tree decorations. Enjoy eating the shrimp, one by one, dipping it in your choice of sauce!

Mashed Potatoes:

5 pounds of potatoes

1 cup cream

Salt and pepper

Boil your peeled potatoes slices in hot water for 20 minutes. Drain and mash the potatoes, adding the cup of cream, butter, salt, and pepper once you are finished.

Christmas Pudding:

150g Medjool dates

150g dried apricots

150g pecan nuts

75g crystallized ginger

1 small fresh rosemary sprig

150g dried cranberries

150g raisins

150g suet

150g plain flour

75g bag of breadcrumbs

200ml semi-skimmed milk

1 large free-range egg (necessary)

1 clementine

Maple Syrup

Destone your dates, then chop them up with apricots, pecans, ginger, and rosemary leaves. Place it all in a butter-greased bowl and crack the egg on top! Add milk, then cover it and heat it up, in an oven at 150°C. Remember, you don’t have to add bourbon or any other alcohol, even if the recipe calls for it. Use syrup instead.
