10 Best Tulip Vases for your Living Room

Tulips, when we think of them, we often think of spring. Their beautiful vibrant colours and ability to make any room feel bright are often reasons why we choose to decorate with them in the first place.

But did you know that there is a type of vase that was specifically designed for tulips? A tulipiere is a vase that dates all the way back to the 1600s and was designed with the intent of growing tulips. You’d place a tulip bulb in the centre and then stems would grow out of each of the shoots. The purpose of this is to create a branching effect and give the illusion of fullness to your flower arrangement.

Of course, despite the name, there are plenty of other flowers that you can put in a tulipiere besides tulips. Depending on the look that you’re going for, you can add any number of flowers to these vases. You can mix and match or stray from the norm and use unconventional plants instead. The styling is completely up to you.

If you’re more of a fan of the vintage or maximalist look, or just want to have an interesting and unique focal point in your living room, then perhaps you should consider adding the tulipiere to your décor.

  1. Delft Blue Tulip Vase

Traditionally speaking, tulipieres looked like this. Hand-crafted and made of delftware, these vases make a huge statement in any home. If you are looking for something truly traditional, then a blue delft tulipiere is for you.

  1. White Ceramic Tulipiere

If you’re interested in dipping your toes into the world of tulipieres, but aren’t sure where to start, then look no further. A simple white, small vase goes well with any décor style, and is very versatile for if you ever feel the need to change up your space.

  1. Pyramid Tulipiere

If you’re really looking to make a statement, then perhaps choosing a pyramid tulipiere is for you. Tall and elegant, this style vase will really add a wow-factor to your space.

  1. Organic Vase

For people who prefer organic lines and décor that doesn’t feel quite so traditional, you may want to decorate with this style of vase. While it is still vintage, it gives more of a modern feel and definitely fits with the current design trend of incorporating softer lines into a space.

  1. Clear Vase

Often because of how quickly design trends change we need something that offers a lot of versatility. A clear vase won’t lock you into only one trend and no matter what kinds of flowers you choose to display, they will always look good in a clear vase.

  1. Small Green

While still being a tulipiere, this kind of small vase is perfect for if you struggle with arranging flowers on your own. Flower stems can be cut to the perfect size to make your arrangement look exactly how you want it, while hiding the fact that you cheated a little bit.

  1. Bamboo Vase

If you’re already going for a more nature-based design, this bamboo-influenced tulipiere will allow you to keep that outdoors feel of your space while also adding a bit of a pop.

  1. Heart-Shaped Vase

Due to their shape tulipieres can often resemble hearts. If that is a look that you want to lean into, there are many anatomically-correct heart shaped tulipieres available for you to choose from.

  1. Head Vase

You can also go a whole different route with your vase and choose one like this head-shaped vase. If you like one-of-a-kind décor pieces, this unique vase will definitely add a lot to your space.

  1. Side by side

If you’re looking for a tulipiere, but aren’t so interested in a bouquet-shape, there are plenty of other options. One of them is a vase like this one which arranges the flowers side by side, creating a different, but equally pretty look.

No matter your style, there is a tulipiere for you!
