Spring is the perfect time to enjoy the great outdoors. When the weather begins to warm up and the daylight hours last longer, spending time with family and loved ones becomes delightful. Whether you are looking for creative outdoor games to play with your children or planning a spring Easter party, we have compiled a few outdoor game ideas to help you celebrate.
Egg Walk Game
One of the most fun games is the egg walk game. Children can play the game by placing a hard-boiled egg or a plastic ping-pong ball on a spoon. From the starting line, each player in a team will hold out an egg in a spoon until they get to the end of the line and return to the start. The egg must be passed off to another teammate who takes their turn. If the egg is dropped, the player must stop and pick it up. Players can carry the egg on a spoon in their mouth as a fun alternative instead of their hands.
Jumping Bunnies
Kids will need large potato sacks or large pillow cases for this game. Each player must then hop inside and take their position. A referee signals the start of the race by blowing a whistle; all players must then jump their way to the finish line. The player who reaches the finish line first wins the game.
Peeps War
A fun and creative game, the peeps war game must have at least two players. Two players get a pack of marshmallows and line them up on opposite sides of a table. Using plastic Easter eggs, each player must try to knock their opponents marshmallows off the table with their empty plastic Easter eggs. The player who knocks all their opponents marshmallows first off the table wins.
Three-legged Bunny Hop
This game encourages interpersonal communication. Divide the players into two teams, then pair two people together from each team. Have each team player stand close together, then tie their inner legs together using a handkerchief or a sturdy bandana. Choose a team to go first, then set the timer for one minute or longer. The paired players from each team will hop to the end of the line at the start of the timer. Once one pair reaches the finish line, another team can start. The team with the most members at the finish line wins after the timer goes off.
Egg Toss game
This game can be played using a hard-boiled egg or a plastic one. Have all the game’s participants stand opposite each other. Each player is then handed an egg and begins to toss it to his partner. The person with an egg tosses it to the one without. With each toss, a player takes a giant step backward until they reach the starting line. The team of players who toss the egg at the greatest distance to their partner in a short time without dropping it wins. If a team does not complete their egg toss successfully and their egg breaks, they are out of the game.
Croquet
Croquet is a fun outdoor game that teams of two, four, or six players can play. The game’s objective is to use a mallet to get the ball through the hoops. Moving around the lawn, hit the ball with the mallet aiming for the hoop. Each time a ball enters the hoop, you score a point. The team with the most scores wins.
